As part of the Pigeon Forge Winterfest celebration, the Parkway is transformed into a winter wonderland with millions of twinkling lights! Your driving tour starts at the north end of the Parkway where you are greeted with the “Welcome to Pigeon Forge” sign. Along your tour, you will see light poles draped with falling snowflakes along with light displays of bear, deer, fox and other critters native to the Smoky Mountains. Some of the highlights along the Parkway include the Old Mill Covered Bridge, Americana themed displays at Patriot Park, and the sparkling 60-foot-tall Christmas tree at Dolly Parton’s Stampede!
2. The Island in Pigeon Forge
If you want to do some Christmas shopping and see some of the best holiday lights in town, head on over to The Island in Pigeon Forge ! This massive shopping, dining, and entertainment complex is fully decked out for the holiday season! You’ll find sparkling lights, giant ornaments and huge decorated trees! While visiting the Island, go for a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel that is lit up for the season in red, green and white lights. This 200-foot-tall ferris wheel provides a unique perspective of all the twinkling lights throughout Pigeon Forge and features all glass gondolas that sit up to 8 guests.
3. Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood
Another fantastic place for viewing Christmas lights in Pigeon Forge is at the Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood ! This award-winning festival features over 6 million lights, holiday musical productions, seasonal foods, and much more! This is a great time to visit the Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood as this is the first year they have a nightly Christmas drone show. Dollywood’s winter wonderland includes a beautiful 50-foot Christmas tree, a recreation of the northern lights and plenty of other fun surprises!
4. Winterfest Wonders of Light Walking Trail
The Wonders of Light Walking Trail has taken over the Riverwalk Greenway in Pigeon Forge! It’s features a collection of Smoky Mountain critters, oversized flowers, dancing snowflakes, and some displays up to 20 feet tall! There are a total of 25 light displays and incredible photo opportunities. You can reach the trail from the Pigeon Forge Municipal Parking Lot at 2936 Teaster Lane!
