1. What to Expect
The Big Bear Mountain Coaster at Dollywood is a massive new ride that features 3,990 feet of track, creating a nearly two minute ride experience as you circle around Wildwood Grove! This attraction also features on-board audio, a first of its kind at Dollywood, where you’ll hear music and announcements! While the coaster offers plenty of thrills and reaches speeds of 48 miles per hour, it is considered a family friendly experience that is fun for all ages! The minimum height requirement is just 39 inches, so bring the kids along for an action packed adventure!
2. Theme of the Ride
One of the things that makes the roller coasters at Dollywood so fun is that they all feature a unique theme, and the Big Bear Mountain coaster continues that exciting trend! You’ll join Ned Oakley, Wildwood Grove’s resident wilderness explorer, on an expedition that departs from the Adventure Outpost Base Camp! This is where you’ll join Ned in his specially-outfitted, four-wheel drive SUVS for the ride of your life in search of the Grove’s famous Big Bear!
3. Expands the Wildwood Grove Section of the Park
The Big Bear Mountain coaster makes the largest expansion in Dollywood’s history, Wildwood Grove, even bigger! The coaster joins the 11 other attractions in the Grove and continues the story of this enchanting hidden land! Some of the other rides that you can experience in Wildwood Grove include the Dragonflier suspended coaster, Black Bear Trail, Great Tree Swing, Mad Mockingbird and the Treetop Tower!
