Laurel Falls Trail is one of the most popular hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Once you make it up the beautiful trail, you’ll be rewarded with the sight of an 80-foot waterfall. Laurel Falls Trail takes about two hours to hike roundtrip and is about 2.6 miles. It’s only about a short drive from Pigeon Forge – you won’t want to miss it!
Grotto Falls
The hike to Grotto Falls is a moderate hike about 2.6 miles long that takes about 2-3 hours to complete if you go to the waterfall and back. It offers gorgeous views as you walk along a trail through an old-growth forest and cross over small streams as you make your way toward the waterfall. Parts of the trail are rocky, so sturdy hiking shoes arerecommend to tackle this trail. It’s a little further of a drive from the Eagles Ridge Resort, but definitely worth the travel!
Cove Hardwood Trail
The Cove Hardwood Trail is made for those looking for a short and leisurely hike to enjoy the view. This self-guided trail takes hikers through the Southern Appalachian cove hardwood forest. It’s only about .9 miles, but take your time on the hike to appreciate all the surrounding nature. You’ll be able to see broadleaf trees such as yellow birch, red and sugar maple, dogwood and more. Nature lovers won’t want to miss out on this experience, and it’s only a short drive from Eagles Ridge Resort!
Gatlinburg Trail

This trail is one of only two pet-friendly trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s relatively flat and offers spectacular views of the Little Pigeon River. Hikers will be able to see foundations and chimneys of old homesites as well as they walk along the trail. The Gatlinburg Trail is perfect if you’re looking to go for a jog or a calm bike ride. It is only a short drive from the Eagles Ridge Resort, so you won’t have far to go to take in the beautiful nature around you!
