Step One: Choose Your Base

When you arrive at Curl de la Creme, you will have a number of decisions to make as you design the perfect sundae. First, you will have to pick your preferred base flavor. This is the type of liquid cream that will be frozen right before your eyes. Currently, the shop offers two choices: chocolate or vanilla.

Step Two: Choose Your Mix-in

After you have selected your base, it’s time to choose a mix-in! Curl de la Creme offers a huge variety of goodies that can be chopped up and mixed into your ice cream. Some of the options include peanut butter, Oreos, Nutella, strawberries, banana, pretzels, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, apple pie filling, and cookie dough. One mix-in is included with the price of each sundae and additional mix-ins can be added for $1 each.

Step Three: Watch the Magic Happen

Once you have chosen your base flavor and mix-in, it’s time for the magic to happen! First, a Curl de la Creme employee will place your desired mix-in on a special plate that is kept at 20 degrees below freezing. Next, the liquid cream is poured onto the plate on top of your mix-in. Then, a spatula is used to chop the mix-in into tiny pieces and spread it around the cream.

Within seconds, the liquid cream will start to freeze and the mix-ins will be trapped in place. When the ice cream is totally solid, it is spread into a thin sheet and then scraped from the plate into six tiny rolls.

Step Four: Choose Your Toppings

After the ice cream rolls are transferred into a cup, guests can complete their sundae with some delicious toppings. Popular options include M&Ms, sprinkles, whipped cream, cherries, brownie crumbles, chopped Reese’s cups, chopped York Peppermint Patties, chocolate syrup, and hazelnut straws. Up to three toppings are included in a standard sundae and additional toppings can be purchased for $1 each.
